Show Notes

Early childhood trauma taught Jewels to run from danger and the tornados of life. She dropped out of high school with childlike coping skills, found alcohol, drugs and people to survive. She never quit though.

Jewels talks about the delusions of her perceptions in early sobriety being the pivotal point in her spiritual journey with “source”. She got sober using the twelve steps, sponsorship and a higher power. We dive deep into spirituality what it means to each of us and how do we manage that when bad things happen.

Jewels is honest, funny and a vulnerable story teller. And she is a body builder. Her story is compelling and the life she has created in recovery inspiring for all.

Jewels is a woman in long term sobriety, the author of the autobiography, The Making Of A Woman, and her blog Empower. You can find both on her website www.themakingofawoman.com and social media. She loves connecting with other sober women.

Jewels is also a member of the Confident Sober Women Facebook group so you can reach out to her there as well. If you aren't a member come on over and join other sober women striving to build confidence and emotional sobriety beyond recovery.

Oh, and by the way, if you didn’t know, my program Sober Freedom Transformation is now open! It is for women who have been sober for a year to many and are ready to discover who they want to be in long term sobreity, develop confidence and improve their relationships.

If you aren't part of the Confident Sober Women Facebook group, it's a great place to be. There are over a thousand other sober women there building lives they don't want to escape from. Come on over and join us.

And if you haven't read my memoir, grab a copy today and maybe a second one for a friend. There is so much hope in recovery, and I shared my story so raw and vulnerably so that others would know they aren't alone and that there is a way to live well, manage relationships, parent your kids, and have a healthy body, all while staying sober. Grab a copy of Recovering in Recovery: The Life-Changing Joy of Sobriety wherever books are sold.
