Mastering Emotions: Meg Daly on Empathy, Healing, and Personal Power
Today, I am thrilled to have my friend Meg Daly as my guest. Meg is a speaker, podcast host, and the founder of the Live More Drink Less 30 Day Reset. She specializes in helping gray area drinkers and empaths discover ways to find more calm in their every day lives.
In this episode, Meg shares her personal journey of learning to face her emotions head-on, rather than running away from them. We explore the common compulsion to escape from heavy feelings and emotions through various coping mechanisms, such as alcohol, food, shopping, and sex. Meg emphasizes the importance of allowing emotions to simply "be" - recognizing them, naming them, and letting them pass through.
Highlights:
- Embracing emotions: Why acknowledging and sitting with our emotions, rather than running away from them, is a key component of healing and personal growth.
- The power of choice: Recognizing our ability to decide how we want to feel and taking charge of our emotional well-being, even in the most difficult circumstances.
- Change and mourning: Understanding that change is a natural part of life and allowing ourselves to grieve and process the emotions that come with it.
- Asking ourselves the right questions: Learning to check in with ourselves and determine what we need in the moment to move forward and create a more fulfilling life.
Join me for this deeply insightful and empowering conversation as Meg shares her wisdom on navigating emotions, embracing our personal power, and living a more balanced and fulfilling life.
